1. Purpose. To issue the required operational capabilities
(ROC) and projected operational environment (POE) for Lewis and
Clark (T-AKE 1) class dry cargo and ammunition ships assigned to
the Combat Logistics Force. This instruction is a complete
revision and should be reviewed in its entirety. Significant
changes include incorporating electronic warfare (EW), force
health protection (FHP) and information operations (IO) as
separate mission areas and adding additional required
capabilities from the strategic sealift (STS) mission area.
2. Cancellation. OPNAVINST 3501.369.
3. Discussion. Reference (a) delineates the ROC and the POE for
T-AKE 1 class ships assigned to the Maritime Prepositioning Force
(MPF) Program. Enclosures (1) and (2), provide the necessary
details to describe the mission areas and operational
capabilities for which the (T-AKE 1) class dry cargo and
ammunition ship was designed and organized as required by
reference (b). This instruction provides resourcing agencies
with the information they need concerning T-AKE 1 Class mission
requirements, capabilities, and the types and locations of
