1. Purpose. To issue Navy policy and procedures for the Logistics and Technology Education
Program (LOGTECH) per references (a) through (c).
2. Background.
a. Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Fleet Readiness and Logistics (CNO N4) facilitates
LOGTECH educational opportunities for senior military and civilian personnel in the logistics
career field to enable critical thinking about logistics, supporting technologies and business
practices.
b. LOGTECH opportunities are presently available at the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill Institute for Defense and Business (IDB). This instruction covers the selection and
assignment of Department of Navy (DoN) personnel for the IDB LOGTECH executive and
advanced courses.
3. Scope and Applicability.
a. LOGTECH is available to senior military and civilian personnel associated with the
Navy’s logistics community of practice.
b. The purpose of course attendance is to examine trends in defense logistics technology
and innovation, complex decision-making and divergent thinking and strategies that will shape
the future of logistics.
