PLASTIC MOLDING AND EXTRUSION MATERIAL,
STYRENE-ACRYLONITRILECOPOLYMERS
This specification was approved by the Commissioner,
Federal Supply Service,
General Services Administra-
tion, for the use of all Federal agencies.
AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope.
This specification covers rigid unfilled styrene-acrylonitrile
copolymer materials for injectionmolding and extrusion applications.
1.2 Classification.
1.2.1 Types and grades.
Styrene-acrylonitrilemolding and extrusion
material shall be of ,thefollowing types, grades, and classes as specified
(see 6.2):
Type I - Minimum acrylonitrile content
Type II - Median acrylonitrile content
Type 111 - Maximum acrylonitrile content

Grades and classes for each type shall be as follows:
Grade1 -
Flowrate 1 to 5 gramsper 10 minutes

Grade2 -
Flowrateabove5 gramsbut not to exceed10 gramsper
10 minutes
Grade3 -
Flow rate above10 gramsper 10 minutes
