1. Purpose. To assign responsibilities for implementing
Department of Defense (DoD) quarantine and customs and border
clearance policies. This revision is substantial and should be
read in its entirety. The significant changes include:
a. Modified or added terms and definitions as needed to
align Navy quarantine regulations with code of federal
regulations (CFR) and international health regulations.
b. Revised responsibilities for clarification.
c. Removed detailed guidance from instruction as it is
contained in references (a) through (k).
d. Added NAVMED 6210/1 Ship Sanitation Control Exemption
Certificate for use when entering foreign ports.
