This publication implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 11-2, Aircrew Operations. It
establishes the responsibilities, requirements, procedures and training for the supervision of flying
operations. This instruction applies to all civilian employees and uniformed members of the
Regular Air Force, Air Force Reserve, and Air National Guard (ANG) (see paragraph 1.3 for
specific details). This publication is not applicable to the United States Space Force or the Civil
Air Patrol. This Instruction requires the collection and or maintenance of information protected by
the Privacy Act of 1974 authorized by Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 5400.11, DoD
