This directive implements Title 10 United States Code (USC) Section 2572, Documents, historical
artifacts, and condemned or obsolete combat materiel: loan, gift, or exchange; 54 USC § 300101,
Policy; Department of Defense (DoD) Financial Management Regulation, Volume 6B, Form and
Content of the Department of Defense Audited Financial Statements; DoD Financial Management
Regulation, Volume 14, Administrative Control of Funds and Antideficiency Act Violations; and
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Instruction (JSCI) 5320.01C, Guidance for the Joint History
Program. This policy applies to all civilian employees and uniformed members of the United
States Space Force (USSF), and the United States Air Force (including the Regular Air Force, Air
Force Reserve, and Air National Guard). Refer recommended changes and questions about this
publication to the office of primary responsibility (OPR) using the AF Form 847, Recommendation
for Change of Publication; route AF Forms 847 from the field through the appropriate functional
chain of command. Ensure all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication
are maintained in accordance with Air Force Instruction (AFI) 33-332, Records Management and
Information Governance Program, and disposed of in accordance with the Air Force Records
Disposition Schedule located in the Air Force Records Information Management System.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES
This document has been substantially revised and needs to be completely reviewed. Major changes
include revision of language to account for the establishment of the USSF and clarification of
responsibilities of the Air Force History and Museums Program Office (AF/HO) to the USSF.
