INTERIM FEDERAL SPECIFICATION
CUSHION, CARPET AND RUG
(HAIR FELT AND RUBBER COATED JUTE AND ANIMAL HAIR OR FIBER)
This Interim Federal Specification was developed by the Federal Supply
Service, General Services Administration, Washington, D. C., 20406, based upon
currently available technical information. It is recommended that Federal
agencies use it in procurement and forward recommendations for changes to the
preparing activity at the address shown above.
1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION.
1.1 Scope. This specification covers the requirements for carpet and rug
cushion underlay made of hair felt and rubber coated jute and animal hair or
fiber.
1.2 Classification.
1.2.1 Types. The cushions shall be of the following types as specified
(6.1).
Type I - Hair felt.
Type II - Rubber coated jute and animal hair or fiber.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS.
2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on date of invitation
for bids or request for proposal form a part of the specification to the
extent specified herein.
