1. SCOPE ANO CLASSIFICATION

This specification covers woven-wire-cloth sieves, and
round-hole and square-hole, perforated-plete sieves intended for general
use in the classification of materials according to size (mechanical
analysis, fineness, and particle size determinations).
1.2 Classification.

The aievea shall be of the following typee
and classee, as specified (ace 6.2).
Type I .- Novan-wire-cloth aievee.
Type II -
Perforated-plate sieves.
Clasa 3 - Round-hole.
Clasa 4 -

1.2.2 Sizes. The sieves shall be furniehed in the cloth or plate
sizea shown in American
Societyfor Teeting and Materials (ASTM) Standards
E-n and E-323, as specified (see 6.2).

1.2.3 Frame style. Sieves covered by this specification ehall be
furnished in the following frame etylea, aa specified (ace 6.2).
