FEDERAL SPECIFICATION
TILE, FLOOR: ASPHALT, RUBBER, VINYL
VINYL-ASBESTOS
This specification was approvad by the Commissioner, Federal
Supply Services, General Services Administration, for use of
all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope. This specification covers four types of resilient non-
textile floor tiles.
1.2 Classification. The floor tile shall be of the following types,
as specified (see 6.2):
Type I - Asphalt.
Type II - Rubber.
Type III - Vinyl.
Type IV - Vinyl-asbestos.
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 The following documents, of the issue in effect on date of invi-
tation for bids or request for proposal, form a part of this specification
to the extent specified herein.
Federal Specifications:
PPP-B-636 - Box, Shipping, Fiberboard.
PPP-B-640 - Boxes, Fiberboard, Corrugated, Triple-Wall.
Federal Standards:
Fed Std. No. 123 - Marking for Domestic Shipment (Civil Agencies).
Fed. Test Method Std. No. 501 - Floor Coverings, Resilient, Non-
Textile: Sampling and Testing.
