This instruction implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 32-10, Installations and
Facilities, AFPD 32-70, Environmental Considerations in Air Force Programs and Activities, and
Department of Defense Instruction (DODI) 5000.67, Prevention and Mitigation of Corrosion on
DoD Military Equipment and Infrastructure. It also implements Title 29, Code of Federal
Regulations (CFR), Part 1910.134, Respiratory Protection; Title 29 CFR, Part 1910.1001,
Asbestos; Title 29 CFR, Part 1926.1101, Asbestos; Title 40, CFR, Part 763, Subpart E, Asbestos-
Containing Material in Schools; Title 15, United State Code (USC), Chapter 53, Toxic Substance
Control Act (TSCA); Title 40, CFR, Part 61, subpart M, National Emission Standard for Asbestos;
and Air Force Occupational Health and Safety Standard 48-137, Respiratory Protection Program.
This Instruction applies to all civilian employees and uniformed members of the Regular Air Force
and Air Force Reserve. Chapters 3, 5, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 apply to civilian and uniformed
members of the Air National Guard. Ensure all records created as a result of processes prescribed
in this publication are maintained in accordance with Air Force Manual 33-363, Management of
Records, and disposed of in accordance with the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule located
in the Air Force Records Information Management System. Refer recommended changes and
questions about this publication to the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) using the AF Form
847, Recommendation for Change of Publication; route AF Forms 847 from the field through the
