Purpose: In accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5135.02, this issuance:
• Establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for the DoD Air Installations
Compatible Use Zones (AICUZ) program for air installations.
• Establishes policy and assigns responsibilities for educating air installation personnel and engaging
local communities on issues related to noise, safety, and compatible land use in and around air
installations.
