1. Purpose. To prescribe policy on the composition of
selection boards for promotion, special selection, temporary
promotion, continuation, and selective early retirement of
Active-Duty List (ADL) officers and warrant officers, and
Reserve Active Status List (RASL) officers and warrant officers
of the Navy and Marine Corps convened, per references (a)
through (i). This instruction is a complete revision and should
be reviewed in its entirety.
